fat lapse

i have been lax in brushing my teeth =((((((

or, to be specific, managing my weight.

(to those yg confuseddotcom, im referring to the quote above. weight management is like berus gigi.)

i have gain another *gasp* kilo. so that makes it 2 kilos gained since last november.

oh tidaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaak.

to be honest, its not that ive been lazy or watever. i believe its to do with my fudged up sleeping pattern. i use to sleep religious by 10, 11pm latest, then wake up fresh and invigorated by 7.30, ready and pumped up to exercise.

now, im like batman. bejaga mlm and tdur siang. i still do my workout but it means i dont get to start till noon and by the time i finish shower and everything, kan mlm tia sudah.

u'd think sleeping pattern doesnt matter but i am proof that it does. i do the same workout and eat the same amount of food, so why am i piling on the pounds?? i'd like to believe its all muscle mass.. but 2 kilos of muscles??

(altho my arms have been sore since saturday. hmm.. now thats another theory)

seriously, i honestly do believe that its my sleeping pattern that zonked out my weight. y'knw how the body needs sufficient rest and theres certain times when it need to reli reli rest so that ur gut and stuff can start detoxing and ish? yea, makes a hugeee difference.

but i cant help my current sleeping pattern. singstar is so fun. pictionary mania is fun too, esp when my team wins. then theres the jamming, singing about cutebabiesss and rashali.

hey, im only in uni once. kalau d brunei, mana my parents suruh keluar mlmx bejaga nyanyi2x d rumah org. haha. apakan. i only do this weekends tho, so fear not adults ie babu and buyai who read my blog. i am still focused on the studies =)

so until i get my sleeping pattern back on track, i wont know if im reli gaining fat weight or muscle mass or my weighing scale needs a new battery.

my clothes all fit fine tho. on the contrary, some are quite loose. maybe my scale is delusional. or i just need new clothes coz they're all stretched out haha.

now thats a good excuse to go a-shopping. i havent been out to town in over a week.

birthday dinner

part II of the birthday post.

i booked a table at oscars for 6.30pm, bearing in mind that bruneians have a tendency to be extremely late. we were suppose to leave the house by 5.45 but due to the complications of my dress (it was small around the bust area which required pins and tucks to get it to fit!), we left the house at 6pm.

went to the bus stop and waited.

and waited....

and waited...

the bus we wanted just wasnt coming. saw about 5 of the buses we want, but going the opposite direction. haish. we were almost tempted to take the tube. the wind was blowing like crazy lgi tu. but we took the time to take some pictures, where i realised that hazim was the shortest among the boys. which is saying something, because i think hazim is already tall. eritnya yg the other 2 boys are giants haha.

when we finally go on the bus.. it was 6.30pm! but it didnt reli matter because i ws the birthday girl and u cant start a birthday dinner w/o the birthday girl kan? plus i got texts from ppl saying they'll be late so i thought it'll be fine.. i needed to make a grand entrance anyhow =p

nda plg menjadi grand entrance nya. apa jua d oscars hee.

finally got to the restaurant by 7ish and... illah and bobbette werent there yet! hazim and padil made a getaway to the toilet and they took FOREVER. i thought only girls go to the toilet in partners.. anie they BOTH went together and they BOTH took forever.

then finally.. (actually i dont remember if the boys came first or the guys but im gonna say the girls la)

illah and bobbette came! they looked quite flushed, so i can see they were rushing to get to the dinner. despite the tardiness, illah had in her hand a helium 'happy birthday' balloon for me! so all was forgiven~ not that i was pissed in the first place plg. coz they're both so funny and entertaining u cant help but feel for them.

PLUS, illah had an uber entertaining story to tell.. about how she rushed to get to the dinner than she got stuck between tube doors. and thats just half of the story. the other half is funnier, but i wont say it here to protect her dignity :p

the boys came.. and hazim promptly gave me a a plastic bag with cluedo in it, saying happy birthday. so theres that.. he was getting me a present rather than spending it grooming and primping with padil in the boys' room.

this is the boring part of the story.. so we basically ordered food, dinner came and we all ate with gusto coz everyone wss uber hungry.

then after all that... PRESENT TIME!

asyura got me a birthday card, which is better in many ways because its something to reli remember by =) shasha got me a vase, which i reli needed because the boyfren keeps sending flowers and i always run around the house cutting open plastic bottles to put them in. now i have a proper clear glass tall vase! zatee got me a necklace with a pink swarovski crystal pendant and tea! whittard in canterbury was shutting down and they dont sell the tea i wanted anymore, so it was a reli nice surprise to get the tea from her!

illah got me a swarovski necklace, uwrapped and nestled right on its blue swarovski box. she insisted i wear it on the night and promptly put the necklace on me. the great thing was, i had the matching earrings at home! it was purely by coincidence that she got me the matching necklace but now i have the set!

thing is, illah got me swarovski earrings which she gave me 2 days b4 the dinner because she wanted me to wear them on my birthday. she was somehow reli nervous abt them, balik2x say 'i hope u like them' and when i opened the blue box, it was the same ones that i have, my very first earrings i got there!

in a way, of course i liked what she got me because i already got them for myself last year! but all was not loss, because illah reli liked the earrings.. she almost bought 2 pairs, one for her and one for me. now she can just take the earrings for herself.

and now i've got a swarovski necklace. =p

bobbette's present, as requested by me, was for her to do my eyebrows. but thats gotta wait for when she comes to canters.

when the empty plates were taken away, asyura insisted i try the desserts psl nyaman. read the dessert menu and didnt see anything i like. i was full and happy and i wanted to watch bridewars. but they continued to shove my face in the desserts menu so to make them happy, and still oblivious, i read the menu again.

the table behind us had a birthday celebrant as well. when a cake came over to us, my table started singing 'happy birthday', which faltered quickly when the waitress carrying the cake signaled the table behind us and shook her head.

so that surprise was spoilt. i knew there was a cake coming.

when my cake finally came, i was surprised still! instead of a birthday cake, i got cupcakes! 22 cupcakes, all beautifully decorated with delicate flowers in pastel colours, with one silver candle on each one. i had to blow all 22 candles in 22 seconds in one breathe. which i failed, naturally. but it was a lovely thing to see, 22 candles all lighted up. its on video up on fb btw.

the cupcakes were good too. they were chocolate and vanilla and i got to distribute them around the table according to the cupcakes' deco. apparently it was also why bobbette and illah were late, they were getting cupcakes and candles for me.

and that was how i spent my birthday! didnt get to see bridewars in the end because we kept missing the showtimes. but it was a great birthday nonetheless, despite not having family around. i had my cousins and i was happy =D

oh, b4 i end this whole birthday saga, i got more presents when i came back to canterbury. wani and aiman got me a watch and reza and yasmin got me a footspa set.

its great to feel the love. hehe

the belated post

sorry everyone, especially to imah and apip who i know were waiting for the birthday post.

the thing.. i cant be bothered now. videos and pictures have been posted up on fb and im just waiting for illah and zatee to do the same, coz they've got some pictures in their kimira.

i'll just do a run-thru la.

arrived in london friday afternoon. had dinner with the ariel court' ppl plus padil and aleem. played lips, which is basically singstar for xbox. btw, i rocked at the game. unfortunately the same cant be said for singstar...

anyway, at midnight, my two cousins aka imah and huda went beserk screaming 'HAPPY BIRTHDAY' in their very high-pitched voices. THAT took me by surprise more than anything.

i got a present from huda at midnight, which i love very very much. me and her share a toiletries obsession - we love lotions, hair prodcts, body scrubs, etc. so she got me a body lotion and body scrub from body shop in the scent of warm amber. it was also what i needed; my body scrub is running out fast.

imah insisted that that was enough present for the night and that i had to wait till morning for my present from her. she did ask a question that reli made me think tho

'ka, whats ur greatest achievement at 21?'

i racked my brains out thinking, because honestly, all i've done so far have been just coasting in life, reli. nothing extraordinary. then she got exasperated by my slow brain and said

'ka, u lost freakin' weight. thats an achievement'.

haha. truee. i didnt reli see it that way but as she put it, i did lose freakin' weight (to be exact, 8kilos) so i guess that counts.


come morning, i brushed my teeth and then my two cousins attacked me once again with their bizarre rendition of happy birthday. imah made me breakfast, peanut butter and chocolate toast and miloh. the bread had a sticker on that said 'best before 17th january' to which she promptly stuck on my forehead.

then more presents came! first was from aleem (technically imah. but aleem said he paid for it so yea), which was Breaking Dawn! then imah's, which were an organic hair towel, a notebook and a luggage name tag, all of which i've requested.

its better to tell ppl what u need so at least they know ur gonna use the presents. kan?

then i became a loser and acted secreatary on facebook; specifically replying to each and every one of my birthday msgs on my wall. i only did it halfway last year so this yr i was determined to NOT miss anyone. the girls went out for netball at the park nearby; then sudah the boys bangun, they went to the park as well.

it was kinda sad that the birthday girl was home alone on a saturday morning, but i really didnt mind, cause i had Breaking Dawn with me hehe. but imah called and insisted i join them. so i went out to the park and jogged one lap round. i wudve jogged more but imah was tired from netball, and i didnt wanna jog alone because dogs were loose everywhere. kuyuk nya anie lgi yg basar2x. kalau mcm kuyuk paris hilton nda jua papa.

after 'exercising', came back home with everyone and ordered out lunch from this fast food joint yg orang2x london saja tau. we basically whiled away time until it was time to get ready for my birthday dinner. i read Breaking Dawn, naturally. i cant resist the temptation of new books. hee.

then we went out for dinner.. which deserves a new post in itself because this is such a long post sudah. haissh.. i was planning on a short and simple one. payah jua kalau bibiran anie ah. lol.

early presents

i've received 3 presents so far prior to my 22nd birthday. for fear of presents clashing, i feel i need to say what i've received so far.

the first 2 presents hardly have any chance of clashing tho. the first was from nis, who got me tudong from tie rack. second present was from mamacits, who sent smores cupcakes (my fave so present so far hehe) and thirdly (which i think will result in the clash) is the perfume inspire, which i mentioned in my wishlist a few posts back.

third present is from my girlfriend in notts who went to all lengths to send me the perfume. thanx babe =D

i have added new stuff on the wishlist plg. but i only mention them to ppl who ask. but what i dont mind putting down here is the book Breaking Dawn from stephenie meyer.

its the only book from the twilight saga i havent read so whoever gets me the book will make my day (and give me eyebags and dark circles once more because i will be up the whole night trying to finish the book in 24hrs haha).

i woundnt mind a finished version of Midnight Sun either. but for that, i need to ask the stephenie meyer herself lol.

anyhoo, my hair turned out great from ystrdy. i am now sporting a brand new hairstyle which i love. pictures will be posted up on facebook as soon as the ppl i wanna surprise see me this weekend. its much better to see their reactions than have it over msn or phone, which is why im waiting till after this weekend. i also want to surprise my hsemates who havent got back from sunny (or shud i say, rainy) brunei/hong kong.

so far 2009 is looking great. too soon to say this of course, but if this keeps up, im happy.. its gonna be a great year =)

the exercise post

like i've mentioned yonks ago, i fell off the exercise bandwagon for about half a month. i went for abt 2 weeks straight without any usual exercise, just 2 measly workouts and i doubt i burned off anything i ate during that week (and lemme say, i ate A LOT. aunty doctor actually said to me 'rabz baru tah ku pernah meliat nie kau mkn banyak ah'). measly in the sense that i didnt even last an hour.. just 30mins -tops.

(my usual routine lasts me for 2hrs. so understand me when i say it really was pathetic.)

so what gives? first it was my neck. i think that one night i slept the wrong way or something.. pokoknya i woke up with a slight pain. i ignored it plg.. but when i tried turning left, it hurt. so i went without doing any stretching weights cardio watsoever. didnt wanna aggravate the neck obviously. kelurusan lgi tu that day was workouts day. but i though i cud make it up the next day.

last time my neck went crazy was last year.. which took about a week to recover. but then it was cause i didnt knw what to do then and i kinda aggravated it by moving around too much. so this time, mcm setaie, i thought by ignoring it and not moving to much, it'll go away by the next day. mcm robot plg ku nda banyak garak. haha with such a stiff neck, i didnt have any choice either.

boy was i wro-ong!

the pain n my neck got progressively worse as the day went on. the next day was like climax. couldnt even get out of bed without wincing or screaming outloud. sakiiit!

so that went on for about 4 days. then i gave it another day's rest, takut it came back. during that 5 days sudah i was feeling so buruk. sudah tah nda exercise, beparam lgi tu dlm rumah. i didnt dare go out coz i cudnt twist my neck properly, so i cudnt reli look left and right b4 crossing the road.

after than came the measly very pathetic workout. u know when lama sudah inda exercise, macam payah kan start semula? so yea. but i managed about 20mins of yoga. then i had a friend visit and we went to london, which put another break from my usual routine of workouts.

then after 2 weeks, i tried to get back on the exercise wagon. i reli reli did. but it was soooo HARD! the weights i used seems heavier than usual and every stretch was like torture.

thank god new years came! because it mean every exercise/fitness website i frequent were full of '2009 resolutions!' 'the new fit you!' and stuff like that. so i picked up a new routine which i love!

it always nice to have a new routine. at least i dont get bored. but honestly, my muscles suffered during my hiatus from pumping iron. i swear flabs grew on my arms right before my eyes. cubatah toning up atu laju jua. pfft.

anyhoo, a bit of PDA ahead.




happy 3rd anniversary to my one and only =) i love youse so very much. thank u for the beautiful flowers, cant wait for the lilies to bloom =D




okay. end of PDA. hehe. thats all everyone. will tell u what i decide to buy for my birthday in the next post. oh, i went out today to check out the shoes i wanted, and the price dropped lgi! mcm, now its soooo murah. i was so tempted to buy them tdi but i was sensible enough to not put money in my account haha.

tomoro i have a hair appointment. im just gonna say to the hairdresser 'surprise me'. lets see how my hair turns out tomoro. im nervous as hell but excited all the same. time for a new look i suppose. i've had long curly hair for 2 years now. and my split ends are killing me. i've asked illah to cut my hair 3 times but she said 'eeh tunggu sja bah'. i hope the hairdresser doesnt kill me for what i've done to my hair! all the perming and colouring and blow-drying. erks.

birthday dilemma

not the juicy how-rabz-is-failing-at-keeping-up-with-her-workouts post. i promise that will come soon =)

this is on the delicate matter of birthday presents for me.. from myself.

i know 22 doesnt mark a huge milestone in life. they don't even have special bday cards for 22 like they do for 18th or 21st. but this year will most probably be the last time i get to enjoy xmas and new year sales in the uk, so i want to get myself something special.

i've been dying to get my hands on this pair of purple lace-leather shoes that i saw last monday. stilettos and sexy gorgeous to the max! on sale lgi tu. thing is, i dont knw when to wear it.. im not much of a jemputan girl.. unless i buy them to wear for my own jemputan? (faham2x laa.. lol)

then theres this watch i came across while window shopping online. and its on sale too! and i do need to get a new watch i think. something not so dressy and more casual than my bronze dkny. still with the diamonds tho. hee. a girl has to have her sparkles.

or maybe a swarovski trinket. theres a spider brooch i really like. or i'll just get my usual earrings per bday, like how i planned last year when i got myself a pair of earrings for my 21st.

hmm... the last option is easiest.. if only i know WHO to hint on. haha. i ran out of ppl to hint on.

as u can see, i've tried giving this blog a new look. still in progress plg. as of 1st jan 2009, this blog turns 2 =)

so happy birthday rabzilulu!

anyhoo, the new look balum siap. i think im more inept at this blogspot thing than i think. i was planning to finish the new look before i write up new posts but i guess it cant be helped.. krg forever behabuk blog anie. need to let the creativity juices flow~

i still dont remember what the 3rd thing i wanted to say in my last post so im just gonna make it up and say its about twilight, new moon and eclipse. yes the books, not movies. i havent got around to getting the last book yet so yea. basically im slightly angau over the vampire. lol.

first things first, london trip! i wont go into much detail with the shopping experience in LV but i will say that it was quite an experience, being there amongst the rich hehe. i even saw one sales assistant say 'we do not do sales here' haughtily to a lady who asked if the bag in her hand was on sale. mcm dalam movie anie bah! thank god the haughty assistant didnt serve us.

i did my best to keep my cool and temptation from buying unnecessary things. i didnt look at jeans; yayyy! but i looked at shoes and tried on a gazilion pairs, each time almost caving in and thinking how much it would hurt my bank balance (and the rest of my month's spending) if i spend 80quid on shoes.

thank god i somehow persevered.

i went crazy at mothercare tho. remember i said i wont buy unnecessary things? i got 2 dresses and one baby outfit from mothercare. shopaholic much? in my defense, the 2 dresses are for my cousins; i got them dresses last summer and it didnt fit them, so this is like a replacement. the baby outfit is for another cousin.. for her 1st birthday.

when i told myself that, the purchases seem fair. hee.

and per usual, london during xmas holds brings millions of bruneians in brunei hall. skali who did i see there but muneer (who studies in australia) and izdihar who is supposed to be in florida!! i almost screamed when i saw him. muneer actually told me he was coming over in december but with dihar i was in the dark. he just nochalantly said it was 'last minute plans'.

travelling from florida to london is last minute?

baik jua i saw him. kalau nda i wudnt have known. hmmpf. so much for being friends =p

i saw them just before i had to catch my coach back to canters tho, so didnt reli have time to hang out. i saw loads of other ppl jua.. like sue and fadz and baby ryan! hee.

came back to canters at about 10pm, fell asleep just as soon as i finished packing and woke up the next morning to find the boiler wasnt working. had to endure the whole morning with no hot water or heat until dave came over to fix the boiler sometime around noon.

baik jua we had a couple of electric heaters. it was extra cold lgi tu that day.

speaking of which, it snowed ystrdy and today. its still white outside. first time since i've been here that the snow settled for this long. i was planning to go out tomoro but if it stays like this, i'll reconsider. my boots dont have enough grip if the ground is icy. no sense in falling all over town.

i'll stop here. i think my exercise woes deserves its own juicy long post. also, got major plans for my birthday weekend, but lets see if i can pull it off.
