i am superwoman

its amazing how a looming essay deadline and 3 exam papers allow you to see every little detail of ur surroundings and just make u more aware.

like, now, i suddenly notice how messy my desk is. so gotta clean that up. then i saw how grubby my carpet was. gotta vacuum that up. then i saw how disorganised my wardrobe was. gotta clear that out.

i saw a hole in one shirt. gotta stitch that up. i see half-empty tubs of moisturizer a year old. gotta throw that out. i see my toenails need TLC, gotta give myself a footscrub. oh, havent spoken to my boyfriend in 3days. gotta spend at least 30mins on skype with him. oh yes, theres the brother who hardly goes online. must speak to him to catch up on things. eeeh havent been out jogging for 2mths and sun is shining, gotta go out and jog. oh wait, my arms are getting flabby! must. do. weights.

anything, really, to keep me away from actually revising.

and now, here i am thinking, eh the blog hasnt been updated in a while (sekadar 5days) and so it needs an update. to think 2 weeks ago when i had absolutely nothing to do and i just left this thing to collect dust.

i gotta say, its not that i havent been revising at all. that'll be like getting a one-way ticket to failureville. i just havent been doing it as much as i should be, or as much as i want to be. fairly dissapointing, but then again, it's my fault for letting myself get distracted by a million and one mundane things that, a week back, never really bothered me.

so i've compressed my usual 2hr workout into one. i've been waking up earlier than usual to squeeze everything under the sun (coz doing things in daylight make me more productive) and i try to not switch on the tv everything i go into the kitchen. i reli do try.

it doesnt help that one of the bf's fave show, and now mine, is playing on tv. i've already got american idol to worry about. but listening to the bf say how fun the biggest loser is and thinking how i'd be interested in it, i gave the UK version a try, which just started palying on itv1 on monday.

so now i am hooked. knwing me, one who is so obsessed with weights despite not calorie counting, i have watched every show so far with rapture and fascination. how can they let themselves go like that? is that how much sugar they consume in a week? i love sweet things, what about me? oh my gawd if i stop exercising i will become like that! eeh she was skinny jua dulu! what if i get that big after pregnancy????

last question is obviously premature. but for that one hr, when i sit in front of the tv, those questions and a million other go through my mind. the show motivates me, but at the same time is saying to me, aww dont bother exercising. ur not this fat. chill~

which in turn makes me panic if i miss a workout lest i gain 15 stones overnite. okay, so my fears are unfounded but throughout the whole show i just feel like a rollercoaster of emotions.

during commercial break i'd be burying my nose in a law revision book, taking mental notes. in that way, i am superwoman! the commercials here are super-long, so i do get a fair bit done. the thing is, how much is actually sticking on this brain of mine?

and i reli do need to jog mornings. i'll be doing a 5km run in june and i shall need the stamina, correct?

anyhoo, my life as of late basically revolves around cramming for exams, exercising and watching tv.

oh, i lost one kilo. from the 2 kilos i gained last week. so one more kilo to go! oh, and who am i kidding? i've been spending more time on facebook doing those stupid inane quizzes. i've considered deleting the account temporarily, make me get off fb for awhile till exams are over. but then i think, whats the point? i'd be going on fb using my boyfren's account instead.

so what i need is willpower, essentially. willpower to keep away from the things i shudnt be doing and to make me do the things i shud be doing.

two more weeks; and another two

time flies so fast when you're having fun (or more like when your sitting around bumming and doing nothing =p); next thing i know, its only 2weeks till my first exam paper, 3 weeks till my essay is due and just four weeks till i finish my last paper and ultimately finish my 3-year law degree.

i'm ashamed to say i havent been using my time productively so far. but today it has finally sink in, so time to make proper use of the revision timetable i made weeks ago!

theres something about holidays, bumming around and doing nothing that makes u eat more. in fact, i've gained weight yet again. abt 2kilos to be exact. but then i havent been doing any weights for over a week. i guess i just have to stop fighting it and just accept that my weight is 2kg heavier and only when i am good that i can be 2kg lighter.

well, at least im not overweight. this obsession about weight needs to be put on hold anyway; theres revision to do =)

so what have i been doing? watching movies. tons and tons of them. i caught burn after reading; brad pitt was hilarious there. the movie was pointless tho, and i guess that was the point of it. sorry if im being vague but go watch it. its good after an intense revision session coz its just full of sh*t. haha. oh, and thats an inside joke with the movie - in no way am i saying the movie is sh*t.

finally caught bedtime stories. that was good too. australia was funny in some scenes, but it dissappointing overall. so much so that i didnt finish watching it. its a shame tho coz i loved nicole kidman in moulin rouge, but in australia she was kinda of amateur-ish. easy virtue was the same, funny in some bits but essentially boring me to death that i stopped watching just 20mins into the movie. plus i never liked jessica biel. Yes Man was a lot better, tho only marginally. i dont knw, maybe jim carey's funny doesnt reach me anymore.

two movies reli moved me; one was seven pounds, the other changeling. i thought seven pounds was great, but oh gee u should watch changeling. changeling was just so emotional and powerful; its a true story too. definitely will watch changeling again. i bet my mum would love it. she likes angelina jolie anyway.

also caught revolutionary road.. wasnt so powerful for me. i guess ur inevitable gonna compare it to titanic because of the power couple starring in it. but i was tired when i watched the movie. i actually asked vuina what the point of the movie was lol. but she said the book is better, which is always the case anyway.

yes i realised this is turning into a compliation of movie reviews but i reli did watch a lot of new movies. also watched twilight again for the 3rd time. somehow it was cringe-worthy the third time. i guess that kind of movie should only be seen once because the more u watch it, the more lame things u pick up.

okay imma leave there; revision time. i should at least dedicate the same amount of time to equity and trust, european law, law and literature and medical ethics and law as the time i spend watching all those movies. so i'll be mia for awhile =) updates will be done via plurk.

much love,

easter picnic

so here we are, at least 2 weeks behind every other uni, finally enjoying our new-found freedom from deadlines and early morning alarms.

rez and wani are back in brunei, bee back in HK and farah's in london. we're a smaller bunch now and kinda bored sitting around in the house doing nothing. so today, for easter (actually, just because, but it is easter sunday), we decided to have a picnic.

mula2x we wanted to have it in a park. sekali we cudnt decide which park (garden of england kali ah kent anie. haha apakan). then one of the boys mentioned something about sandwich toasties and we wanted some. so we ended up having a picnic in rushmead's backyard, with 2 extension cords from the living room so we could have the sandwich toaster and a regular toaster and a kettle (to make coffee) all the way outside.

pintar kan? haha

it was a nice day to be out, the sun's been nice lately and has pampered us with much warmth and sunshine hehe. vuina and nis were lying on their backs watching clouds go by. illah was busy with her camera. i was taking orders from ppl for sandwich toasties (tho i am super slow. kalau business, payah kan maju la at the rate i was going haha) and the boys were just being boys, trying to twirl a football =p it was the first time we've been to their house in daylight.

anyhoo, being head chef of sandwich toasties allowed me to discover the weird combination of filling my friends have on their toasties. ali had cheese with sugar and peanut butter, illah had susu manis with milo and vuina had peanut butter with sugar.

but u knw wats cool? peanut butter and sugar toasties taste like kueh melaya! not the exact taste la.. but close enough. i dont knw what cheese and sugar and peanut butter tastes like tho. the combination sounds like some fear factor challenge for me haha

***************************************************************************************

now the workout/exercise bit of my life.

i've been doing less exercising lately. like, i seem to have lost my exercise semangat. i still workout every other day like usual, but its not the usual dedicated routine. which means i need a new routine before i give up altogether. my weight's been consistent despite the decrease in productivity but i knw i cant afford to stop altogether. karang lampuh siapa jua yg stress!

haha eyh mentel. so i guess this cuti i'll be trying out new calorie burning stuff before i get down to revising for the exam.... in two weeks time? hehe.

much love,

the final week of term

and i shouldn't be blogging but here i am =p

my head is still in this state of denial where i think i still have plenty of time when in fact theres only 4days of term left. but i'm making good progress on my essay (or so i'd like to think). the essay plan is up, plus i've written an intro.. so its just putting the bits and pieces together to make the body; just need a bit more research to show that i really do knw what i'm talking about.

moving on to happier news.

congratulations to JEM and KALEL for finally tying the knot last friday. i haven't known these two for a long time, but long enough to know that they're both well suited for each other =) i wish u both happiness and and success and prosperity in your marriage and may Allah berkati and lindungi u guys. i'm a bit miffed that i wasnt there for the wedding hahaha nadawah. but i would love to have seen jem in her all white attire looking all gorgeous, which is why i cant wait to see pictures on facebook =D

on the regular issues which is my weight (hahaa), the london weekend away has, as usual, created havoc. im still at my ideal weight (ish), but at the upper scale of my regularly flunctuating weight. now if i can just lose 500g (awu anal bah!) then i'll be fine hehe =p

anyway, im hungry. bee is cooking so here i am patiently waiting for dinner to be ready. so this post will be all over the place. i cant wait to go to thorpe park during easter hols. havent been in a rollercoaster in aaages. i have a 4,000 word essay to do over easter tho, on top of the revision i have to do. oh well. first i gotta get this 3,000 word essay done.

atu, i had one more thing to share. but now i forgot. haha. so i'll just be blurting out random stuff. i'm hungry bah >.< hariatu i made brownies but we ran out of cocoa so i tried it with milo instead. sedaaaap berabis and so fudgilicous! tasted like kek batik to me, but then my mum makes kek batik with milo so that must be why. then the next day we had caramel ice-cream in cones; illah got cones from tesco. mcm cool coz we were all licking ice-cream while watching tv.

oh, and the other day i was craving nasi katok. shapa pandai buat the sambal kan? i dont reli want the specific msg-rich nasi katok but like, fried chicken with rice and the sambal. illah made salmon baked rice the other day and it was soo good. the rice came out all sticky because of the lemon juice and olive oil she put in and i added kicap manis to it i swear it was like eating salmon teriyaki bento!

egawd im hungry. i'll go to the kitchen and kacau bee.

much love,
be'ah xoxo
